Father’s Day is a special occasion. It’s an opportunity to appreciate everything our dads do for us. But giving him a gift card or a tie just like every year is not a surprise. It’s just as predictable and anticlimactic as one of his jokes.

If you really want to do something for your old man, why now plan a movie night with him? Here we’ve compiled some of the most hilarious, heartwarming, and action-filled movies that every dad will love. Invite your pop, grab some popcorn, and have a happy Father’s Day!

The Adam Project (2022)

Ryan Reynolds plays a time traveler who crashlands in 2022 and has to team up with a 12-year-old version of himself and a younger version of his dad to save the future of the planet. If your dad is a fan of Back to The Future and sci-fi, he’ll love this action comedy.

Daddy’s Home (2015)

Brad Whitaker is a kind-hearted, storybook family man trying to get his two stepchildren to like him when their biological father, Dusty Mayron, enters the scene to rival his fatherhood and win his ex back. Dusty, played by Mark Wahlberg, is a hyper-masculine, super cool, freewheeling man whom the kids immediately start liking.

Modern Family (2009-2020)

Yes Day (2021)

Kids have the most ridiculous ideas. It’s a parent’s job to tell the kids what’s okay to do and what’s not. What if parents said “yes” to everything their kids asked?

In “Yes Day,” parents Alison and Carlos Torres decide to give their kids a “Yes Day” during which they’ll agree to everything the kids ask. This movie will terrify your dad and make him laugh at the same time.

The Mitchells vs. The Machines (2021)

The world has been taken over and all the humans have been taken captive by an uprising army of robots. Humanity’s last hope? A dysfunctional family on a cross-country road trip. The movie is ridiculously fun with delightful lessons about family and humanity.

And there you have it. We played it safe by choosing action and comedy movies that most dads would love to watch with their kids. Make sure to have lots of fun!
